Facebook...not a waste of time after all

Generally I’d consider Facebook to be a complete waste of time. My first impression of Facebook was “O man, this is going to be another Friendster”. Last week I got a message in my Facebook inbox. It was from my high school friend Carsten who I used to be really good buddies with for many years. After high school we just lost touch and rarely, if at all spoke to each other. He actually messaged me to congratulate me on my engagement. The message ended off with Do you want to catch up? I was actually really happy that he asked because I knew that if I didn’t catch up soon I’d probably lose contact with him completely; I think the last time I saw him was back in 2002. So tonight, instead of going out for some late night shopping I’m going to meet him for dinner at Nando’s in Nedlands (the one where I used to work at). Lately I’ve tried to catch up with friends from the past and to see how things are and reminisce about the good ol’ days. Thanks to Facebook I can now catch up with all my past friends.

Thank you Facebook, you’re great…sorta
